Visitors at ISC West 2023 had the opportunity to stop by the ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions – Critical Infrastructure booth, to see and learn about the new ALWIN security management software.
According to the company, this software is part of an access management solution for critical infrastructure customers based in the US.
ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions says that ALWIN is a modular, scalable and flexible software solution for critical infrastructure protection, designed to monitor and protect security-challenged sites against intrusions.
France-based ALCEA, developer of the ALWIN software, was merged into the ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions – Critical Infrastructure business in 2022.
The product includes supervision software organized into several modules for systems integrators to customize for their individual customer applications, including access control, CCTV, intruder alarm, visitor management and key management.
“Having this in our US portfolio fills a needed gap because now it gives facility managers and systems integrators a whole system – software and security hardware together – allowing full visibility of critical site equipment and situational awareness,” explained Jerry Burhans, Managing Director for ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions – Critical Infrastructure. “Several technologies, systems or protocols can be upgraded together, on both new and existing installations.”
Burhans stated that as customers deploy more and more edge devices within their infrastructure, all of which require audit trail, NERC/CIP compliance and status updates, they need a scalable top-line solution capable of integrating into the enterprise access management systems they install in their facilities.
“That’s why ALWIN integrates or interfaces with more than 100 leading technology manufacturers of access devices, readers and video systems. You can connect what you want. And we are proud to be good partners with all of these popular brands in the industry,” he added.

Additionally, the integration of both hardware and software into one package can streamline the deployment of new solutions, providing critical infrastructure with an added layer of protection.
