Comm Port Technologies has introduced its Comm Port Area Scan (CPAS) under-vehicle surveillance and inspection system (UVIS).
According to the company, this release will meet the growing need for securing premises by checking vehicles at points of entry.
CPAS under vehicle surveillance and inspection systems use high speed area scan vision cameras and industrial PC’s to bring all your security components under one management systems.
CPAS UVIS is a complete inspection system consisting of an area scan camera, monitor, industrial PC, license plate reader camera, driver image camera, LED lighting and associated hardware and software modules.
Images generated by the CPAS UVIS system are instantly compared to a reference image of the underside of the vehicle through Comm Port’s Automatic Change Detection Module (ACDM) software.
The company states that this software can be used for comparison of any images, whether identical, partially dissimilar or substantially different and is immediately able to detect any variations and anomalies found in the undercarriage of the vehicle and flag them for further inspection.
Comm Port Technologies explains that every time a vehicle enters a site it passes over the Comm Port vehicle inspection cameras and is automatically logged within ACDM.
The vehicle registration number is recorded via integration with Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology and images of the vehicle’s underside are stored.
The under-vehicle inspection cameras, set into the ground, compile high resolution images of the vehicles’ underside, creating a virtual ‘fingerprint’.
If any anomalies are found, these are raised as an alarm within ACDM and the vehicle is prevented from entering the site, the company adds.
The heavy-duty, baseplate is made of diamond plate material with the scanner and light arrangement included in a one package system.
Weight bearing capacity comes standard with a 48-ton capacity and an optional 110-ton option available.
The company highlights that the system is designed to withstand harsh environments, rugged terrain and extreme temperatures.
Likewise, cameras and lighting are encased in sturdy, weatherproof housings. LEDs offer the most reliable, low-heat light source available, with a typical life of over 100,000 hours.
Comm Port’s advanced CPAS products use color area scanning technology to effectively scan and inspect the undercarriage of vehicles for real-time search and analysis of images for explosive devices, suspicious objects or contraband- such as drugs, weapons or explosives (IED).
This makes the CPAS system ideal for government buildings, defense buildings, Palace entrances, parliament buildings, prison entrances, Federal Reserve Bank entrances, underground parking garages, oil field terminals, refineries, nuclear power plants and any other high-profile government or industrial building that could be a potential target for attack.
