Cyberhaven has announced the launch of Visibility and Protection for AI to address the critical AI security gap.

The company claims that the new release represents a major platform expansion designed to transform how organizations harness AI.

Cyberhaven

Cyberhaven states that it provides security teams with next-generation tools to:

  • Identify grassroots AI innovation
  • Scale successful AI workflows enterprise-wide
  • Evaluate AI tools based on customizable risk criteria
  • Implement granular controls over both data entering AI systems and AI-generated content flowing through business operations

The new launch

According to the company, this launch comes at a critical time, as new research from Cyberhaven Labs reveals workplace AI usage has increased 61x over the past 24 months.

The research also found that 71.7% of AI tools fall into high or critical risk categories, with 83.8% of enterprise data flowing to these risky tools rather than enterprise-ready alternatives.

Cyberhaven said that the volume of sensitive corporate data shared with AI tools has more than tripled in just two years, from 10.7% to 34.8%.

“See, understand and control”

Howard Ting, CEO, Cyberhaven commented: “AI is revolutionizing how businesses operate but this rapid adoption creates new security blind spots.

“Our Visibility and Protection for AI solution gives organizations the confidence to embrace AI’s benefits without compromising data security.

“We’re helping customers see, understand and control how their data interacts with AI, turning a potential risk into a competitive advantage,” Ting concluded.

Visibility and Protection for AI

According to the company, Cyberhaven’s Visibility and Protection for AI combines four powerful capabilities:

  • Shadow AI Discovery
  • AI Usage Insights
  • AI Risk IQ
  • AI Data Flow Control

“Our solution stays ahead”

Nishant Doshi, Chief Product and Development Officer, Cyberhaven commented: “Traditional security approaches can’t see which AI tools employees are using or know how these tools put sensitive data at risk.

“Our solution stays ahead of the evolving AI application landscape, maintaining a registry of existing and emerging tools as employees adopt them,” Doshi concluded.

Addressing challenges

Cyberhaven says that the solution directly addresses key business challenges, including:

  • Uncovering shadow AI
  • Stopping sensitive data leaks to unsanctioned AI tools
  • Limiting AI’s exposure of confidential information
  • Enabling secure AI adoption across the enterprise
