Liberty Defense has announced that Denver International Airport will trial the company’s HEXWAVE detection solution for a week at an employee checkpoint.

The system will screen aviation workers in the Great Hall at the south checkpoint.

Security screening

According to the company, the HEXWAVE detection solution uses millimeter wave, advanced 3D imaging and AI to detect concealed metallic and non-metallic weapons such as liquid, plastic and powder explosives, 3D printed guns and other prohibited items – without having to remove common items like cell phones or keys.

The system allows for rapid, automated screening using a high throughput, contactless, walkthrough portal.

“Denver International Airport has always been on the forefront of deploying next generation technologies, especially for safety and security applications,” said Bill Frain, CEO of Liberty Defense.

“We look forward to working with Denver to enhance the screening requirements and demonstrate an effective and efficient security process utilizing our HEXWAVE technology.”
