Global access solutions provider, dormakaba, has announced the opening of a new production facility in Montreal, Quebec.

“We are pleased to enhance dormakaba’s access control solutions product operations in Montreal,” said dormakaba Executive Vice President for North America Ben Brydges.

“Our new production facility in Montreal will enable us to better meet the growing needs of our hospitality and multi-housing customers and serve as an incubator for new lodging system products.”

Lock production

The company says that its Montreal Plant employs approximately 600 people and will produce more than 400,000 hospitality, vacation rental and multifamily-housing electronic lock assembly units annually.

This includes assembly of more than 2.2M Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA), which are used to make electronic locks and other electronic products at many dormakaba production facilities throughout the world.

The new facility consolidates three previous sites and moves multi-disciplinary teams, including procurement, R&D and customer support under one roof so they can see and touch the products that are being developed, assembled and shipped to customers across North America as well as worldwide.
