Fredrik Nilsson, Vice President, Americas, Axis Communications speaks to SJA about what the company is showcasing at GSX 2024.

Can you tell me about your role at Axis Communications?

I’ve been with Axis Communications since we introduced the world’s first network camera in 1996.

I’ve overseen our operations across North and South America – serving as Vice President of the Americas – for over 20 years.

In that time, we’ve seen tremendous growth and change both at Axis and in the market.

One of the biggest changes has been the move from analog to IP solutions, of which we were and continue to be a fundamental driver.

Additionally, when I first came to the Americas, we had 20 team members and four products in our portfolio.

Today, we have over 700 team members and our product portfolio includes audio, access control, intercoms and more, alongside video.

We are always continuing to innovate.

What is Axis showcasing here at GSX?

At GSX, Axis Communications will showcase the latest products and solutions from across our portfolio.

Of course, we’ll have our latest cameras and video solutions, but we’ll also display our audio speakers and horns, intercoms, physical access control systems, radar, body worn solutions and more.

Additionally, we’ll have several of our technology partners in our booth to demo their integrated solutions.

Show attendees can discover all of our latest technologies, experience demos and meet with our knowledgeable team at GSX booth #1414.

Why is GSX an important show for Axis to attend?

Axis Communications has participated in GSX every year for the last 20 years.

As one of the biggest and best security tradeshows in the US, GSX is the perfect opportunity to get a pulse on everything that is happening in our industry.

It’s an especially great place to meet with security practitioners and catch up with partners.

Because of GSX, we gain firsthand knowledge and we are able to better understand what our partners and customers need.

In turn, we use that insight to further innovate and help solve their challenges.

What are the company’s plans for the next 12 months?

This year at Axis Communications, we are celebrating our 40th anniversary.

Throughout our history, we’ve continually introduced groundbreaking innovations, from the world’s first IP camera to our new open partner- and channel-friendly Axis Cloud Connect platform.

As we look ahead to the next 12 months, we plan to continue to invest heavily in our talent, R&D, Axis Experience Centers and our strategic relationships, in order to continue to develop innovative, long-term solutions for a smarter, safer world.

It’s fair to say that that we have lots of exciting developments on the horizon and our partners and customers remain central to our goals.

Anything else you’d like to share with our readers?

Our Axis Experience Centers not only allow us to bring our technologies closer to our partners, integrators and customers, but serve as a hub for education, ideas and networking.

As of today, we have 17 centers across the Americas and more than 30 worldwide.

This year alone, we’ve celebrated three grand openings – with our latest in Phoenix, Arizona – and we have more facilities opening soon.
