Jason Veiock, CEO and Founder of BEARING explains how the company is shaping the future of security with Agentic AI on ServiceNow.

Can you tell me about yourself?

I was the Chief Security Officer (CSO) at GoDaddy for eight years.

While I was there, I became exposed to the ServiceNow ecosystem, a platform that powers businesses.

I helped design and build a custom application to manage our security operations.

I was also one of the first people to leverage Workplace Service Delivery, which is the real estate module within ServiceNow.

I then joined the Product Advisory Committee and got to know many of the people internally.

From there, an opportunity presented itself where ServiceNow was interested in bringing physical security onto its platform.

After a lot of conversations, ServiceNow, in collaboration with High Alpha, our VC, decided to give the project the green light and that’s how BEARING was born.

Can you delve a bit deeper into the story of BEARING?

We’re the first physical security application built on ServiceNow.

The platform can help security teams manage every aspect of their operations – it’s focused on workflow automation and using AI to digitally transform physical security.

ServiceNow is designed in a series of modules that can fit together as needed.

But what ServiceNow didn’t have was an application for physical security.

The real power of ServiceNow is in the underlying data fabric.

Because we are built on ServiceNow we can leverage that data fabric.

For example, if you work in a large organization, then your laptop is likely tracked and issued by a ServiceNow ticket.

Let’s say your car was broken into and your laptop was taken.

Using your phone, you can open a ticket that says ‘lost company device’ and it will list all of the items issued to you.

It’s then possible for the correct item to be listed as stolen and for the activation of an automated workflow, signaling that you need to be assigned a replacement.

The workflow will lock that device so it can’t be used by the thief and you’ll also receive update emails the entire time.

Now imagine a similar scenario for every single type of incident that physical security teams handle.

That includes corporate and global security, covering all hazards, incidents and case management.

We’re also the system of record for every single piece of hardware in your environment – every camera, badger, panel, server.

What are the benefits that being on the ServiceNow platform brings to the BEARING application?

One of the things that security leaders must think about are disparate point solutions.

Our industry is very much focused on using a travel solution to solve a travel problem; if I have an identity problem, I will use an identity solution.

Each one of these solutions requires integration, so we have changed the game by eliminating the need for this.

When you log on to our application, you actually log on to your company’s ServiceNow platform – which you’re likely already using.

Then all you have to do is to search through the ServiceNow platform and click on BEARING to access the security operations workspace.

BEARING’s decision to build on ServiceNow is strategic.

ServiceNow remains the enterprise platform of choice for digital workflows and BEARING leverages its powerful backbone to deliver AI-native, security-specific outcomes that are immediately actionable.

This embedded approach allows for deep integration with ITSM, SecOps and IR processes – eliminating the friction that slows down conventional security tools.

For security leaders looking to modernize their operations with AI that works, BEARING isn’t just a product vendor – it’s a partner that’s been in your shoes.

This year, we’re going to be seeing more people talk about Agentic AI, which we are incorporating into our application.

Agentic AI is a strategic focus of ServiceNow and native to our application.

That’s the beauty of what we’re doing; a lot of physical security departments are worried about AI and are wary of it, but if a company is already using ServiceNow, then they already have an approved AI platform.

What exactly is Agentic AI, and why is BEARING leading the charge?

Unlike traditional AI models that passively assist, Agentic AI is designed to take initiative – navigating workflows, initiating remediation and even coordinating human-in-the-loop decision-making across complex environments.

BEARING’s Agentic AI capabilities, tightly integrated with ServiceNow’s ecosystem, allow security teams to move beyond dashboards and ticket queues to a more autonomous, adaptive mode of operation.

How does BEARING help to solve the challenges that are faced in the industry?

Every security team is going to do a site assessment of their locations and we’ve integrated that into what we do now.

Because we track every incident that occurs at every location, we can integrate real time data directly into the assessment.

This helps a security team to see the probability and impact of certain events at a particular facility.

It’s about the data fabric and bringing it all together.

To provide you with an example, we can identify every time a camera goes down.

We also track every camera’s make, model, serial number, SKU and so on.

If I see how many times that camera model goes down, and I know all of that information, I can use predictive intelligence to tell you the lifecycle of the devices.

This data also allows us to forecast CapEx projections.

If I can say that a camera model will last about five and a half years, and there are 10,000 of these in an environment, I know the number that will reach the end point in their lifecycle on a certain date, as well as having access to the data on how much they cost.

Agentic AI will make a point of asking whether a new purchase order should be created as that date nears.

What are your plans for the rest of 2025?

One of the most exciting things we’re finding is that we’re engaging with really progressive customers, and our customers are telling us what they want to see.

When five customers tell us similar issues or common themes over the course of one week, it’s important to listen to what they’re saying.

We identify that trend and invest in a new line of development because we take what they’re saying seriously.

We will continually innovate and at the moment, we have a quarterly release plan for the first 24 months before we transition to a twice-yearly release.

As we do that, each and every time, we’re going to deliver enhanced capabilities for our current solutions based on customer feedback and branch into new areas as needed.

We’re positioning ourselves as the spokes of the wheel that bring lots of parts together. We bring data directly to where a business needs it.

About BEARING
