The newly launched International Cyber Expo will host a high-level, two-day Global Cyber Summit to deliver best in class education for Government, CISOs, CIOs, CTOs and all cybersecurity professionals when it opens its doors at Olympia, London from 28-29 September.

With more than 20 separate CPD-certified sessions confirmed, headline speakers will include Neil Walsh, Chief of the Cybercrime, Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Financing of Terrorism Department – UN Office on Drugs and Crime who will deliver a session titled ‘Cyber crime and money laundering a global pandemic?’. In this talk, he will explore the impact of the COVID pandemic, the evolving threats as well as the policy vs reality gaps.

Elsewhere, Professor Ciaran Martin CB, Former CEO – National Cyber Security Centre, Professor, Oxford University will consider the cyber threat to business, asking: how real is it and what should businesses be doing? In this presentation he will delve into the current cyber threats and priorities, the focus for cyber defence and where the threats are likely to come from in the future. Also looking ahead to the future, Ciaranwill return on the second day of the summit to deliver a presentation on making the best use of Government capabilities and the importance of public-private partnerships. Having set up the NCSC, he will discuss its outputs, how it works and how security professionals can make the best use of this invaluable resource.

The programme will also see globally renowned experts sharing their knowledge and expertise on a range of topics from serious organised cybercrime, state-sponsored hacking, ransomware attacks, protecting critical national infrastructure and more.

One key theme touched upon in several of the sessions is the human side of cyber crime. On the first day of the Summit, Nicola Whiting MBE, Chief Strategy Officer at Titania Group will deliver a session on embracing diversity, neurodiversity and neurodivergence in a cyber environment. Elsewhere, Lorena Gutierrez, Crisis and Resilience Manager at PwC UK will present a session on responding to cybersecurity crises: the human factors. Using real-life examples, she will take attendees through what makes cyber crises more complex than other types of crises, the challenges of aligning business and technical priorities in a cyber crisis and how physiological, emotional and cognitive factors influence key response decisions.

The Global Cyber Summit will also host several panel discussions including one titled ‘Data, blockchain and crypto – the truth, myth and legalities’ that will welcome Prof Lisa Short, Director and Co-Founder of P&L Digital Edge Limited, Alex Fazel, Chief Partnership Officer and Cryptonites TV Host at Swissborg and Dean Armstrong QC, Head of Chambers at 36 Group. Another panel discussion, exploring what keeps CISOs awake at night, will welcome a host of experts including Jenny Radcliffe, The People Hacker, Ian Thornton Trump, CISO – Cyjax, Tim Ward, CEO & Co-Founder – Think Cyber Security Limited and Mahbubul Islam, CISO – HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS).
