iMerit has announced the appointment of Colonel Georgeo Xavier Pulikkathara, a US Army Veteran, as Chief Information Officer and CISO.

The company states that Pulikkathara brings over 34 years of experience in IT and cybersecurity leadership, spanning banking, healthcare, technology and defense.

As founder of GXP Security and current CIO and CISO for the 81st Readiness Division in the Army Reserve, he manages critical IT operations for 50,000 soldiers and civilians across 247 sites in nine states.

iMerit adds that his past work includes strategic leadership roles at Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, BMO, RBC Capital Markets, AIG, Avanade, Dovenmuehle Mortgage, DataStax and the US Army.

Pulikkathara is a two-time Bronze Star honoree and his academic credentials include a PhD candidacy in Cybersecurity at National University, an MBA from UNC-Chapel Hill and a BBA from the University of Houston, the company notes.
