Andy Bane, CEO and Hayden Burr, Chief Innovation Officer of Integrated Control Technology (ICT), tell SJA about their new roles at the company.

Can you tell me about your new role as CEO of ICT?

Andy Bane (AB): Three things got me excited about joining ICT: first is our team, a terrific group of dedicated, resourceful problem solvers anchored in a friendly Kiwi culture.

Second is our customers whom we strive to partner with to help them secure their success.

Last is ICT’s solution which is purpose-built as a unified offering to deliver access control, intrusion detection and automation backed up by a team with deep industry subject matter expertise.

What are your plans to grow the company?

AB: We’ll be heavily investing to strengthen our core hardware and software platform to deliver more integrated value to meet the evolving needs of our customers who increasingly demand operational efficiencies and enhanced guest experiences.

We’re also strengthening our go-to-market motion in partnership with many of our customers.

Hayden Burr (HB): We think the best way to grow is to continue to solve hard problems for our customers.

That’s what I’m most excited about for my new role as Chief Innovation Officer.

After more than 20 years leading ICT, I’m excited to pivot to a role that will enable me to think deeply about future needs, and where things are headed… to think not only about product innovations, but also all the ways we can evolve as a company to better meet the needs of our partners and customers.

I’m honored to welcome Andy to ICT.

We’re excited about the new energy and perspective he will bring and how his decades of operational excellence will help us continue to scale our operations, strengthen our go-to-market strategies and advance our technology platform.

How do you think the access control industry will evolve in the near future?

AB: The market is hungry for more unified, flexible solutions.

As such we’ll continue to work hard to enable an open, unified platform for intrusion detection, access control and smart building automation, making it easier to adopt and integrate through our technical integration partners.

We want to give customers the future-proofing they require by not locking them into a closed system that can’t expand or easily integrate with new solutions down the road.

On the technology front, we believe it’s not simply about offering a cloud solution.

It’s important to provide a hybrid solution supporting both cloud and on-prem to meet evolving customer needs.

While the cloud continues to grow in the industry, it won’t change the fundamental need for on-prem in many end-markets.

Also, AI is impacting every industry and ours is no exception so we’re exploring this with customers and for use in our own business.

Like any market, and especially true for ours, we expect customers to continue demanding greater value.

They expect to benefit from declining cost curves experienced in hardware, software and computing and that technology vendors like ICT will innovate around both technology and cost.

What is ICT highlighting at ISC West?

AB: We’re excited to tell a bigger story around some of the key vertical solutions we serve, such as multifamily, healthcare, education and banking.

In fact, in the run up to ISC West we’re previewing some solutions in our webinar series this month and next.

We’re also excited to feature some of our recent tech integrations and partners.

“Secure Your Success” is our new tagline we’re rolling out and through customer stories we want ICT to be recognized as a true partner, enabling success for our integrator and dealer customers and the end users they serve.
