Francisco Alcala, North American Sales Manager, Farpointe Data explores the company’s planned growth for the near future.

Can you tell me about yourself and your role?

Serving as Farpointe Data’s North American Sales Manager, my main focus is on building strong relationships with physical access control system (PACS) manufacturers and their channels.

Having joined Farpointe as an intern almost two decades ago, I’ve been fortunate to hold positions of increasing responsibility in sales, marketing and operations.

This experience has given me the unique opportunity to serve our customers from different perspectives and has provided a valuable education that helps me support our PACS partners today.

What solutions does Farpointe offer its customers?

Farpointe’s core focus is on supplying the most reliable RFID readers and credentials to the electronic access control industry via our PACS partners, in support of their respective channels.

Farpointe’s mobile (2.4-GHz BLE), smartcard (13.56-MHz), proximity (125-kHz) and long-range (433-MHz) solutions fulfill a wide range of application requirements and carry a reputation for quality, reliability and performance.

An emphasis on quality is crucial because reader and credential performance plays a key role in end-user experience and directly impacts the reputation of the PACS we serve and their channels.

Furthermore, compliance with domestic and international industry standards allows Farpointe products to be installed with confidence globally.

What is Farpointe’s overall mission?

Farpointe strives to be an active contributor and indispensable partner to the access control industry by reducing inconveniences in the procurement, deployment and use of identity solutions for electronic access control.

Farpointe’s sales and customer support teams are industry experts and act as a consultative resource for our PACS partners and their channels.

As our products and support directly impact end-user satisfaction and have a financial impact on the channel, we understand the importance of our role in the industry.

As a result, Farpointe is committed to not only supplying quality products in a timely manner, but also offering personable and accessible support.

What are your plans for 2023 and beyond?

Farpointe is in growth mode and our plan is to continue improving upon our core strengths.

Investment in human resources and infrastructure will be key to providing the highest levels of quality and support for which we strive and that the industry expects.

The access control landscape has shifted in recent years due to cloud-based management, flexible workspaces and support of new verticals, among other factors.

This new environment has compelled the industry to be more receptive to new technologies, mobile credentials being a key driver.

From this standpoint, we plan to expand our smartcard and mobile lines to support this wider spectrum of the market.

The ultimate goal – always – is to serve the needs of our PACS partners today, even as we anticipate and prepare for the demands of tomorrow.
