Kyndryl has announced an extended partnership with the National Bank of Canada to increase its digital transformation and cloud migration.

According to Kyndryl, it has been supporting the National Bank’s critical infrastructure for many years and is now working with the bank to modernize its environment through cloud migration to streamline workloads and operations, reduce technical debt and innovate across the organization.

“The expertise of Kyndryl is a key asset for us,” said Julie Lévesque, Executive Vice-President – Technology and Operations, National Bank of Canada.

“The company’s dedication is essential as we strive to maintain our market leadership and adapt to our clients’ evolving needs through our cloud transformation initiatives.”

Cloud migration

The cloud native operating model is designed to improve the bank’s operational agility by enabling it to scale up or down its computing resources according to demands and allowing it to launch products and services faster and easier.

It will also help simplify business processes by automating and integrating workflows, and by facilitating collaboration and communication among employees.

“We know National Bank’s legacy environment very well,” said Farhaz Thobani, President, Kyndryl Canada.

“With our Kyndryl Consult team, leveraging our deep hybrid cloud and mainframe expertise, we will help the bank reduce its infrastructure and operational costs, while gaining more flexibility and speed to respond to changing market conditions and customer needs.

“The bank will also be able to leverage the cloud to access new technologies, like AI, that can enhance its product offerings and customer experiences.”
