The NEC Corporation of America (NEC) has been recognized by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)-sponsored Organization of Scientific Area Committees (OSAC).
According to NEC, the OSAC has certified its advanced biometric solutions, including face recognition and matching algorithms.
NEC says its technology is used as a solution by numerous law enforcement agencies and federal government organizations as a national security tool. Following laboratory testing, the company’s face recognition algorithms have also been recognized by NIST in recent years as being among the “most accurate ever evaluated”.

“This certification is proof positive that NEC‘s advanced biometric technology, including our leading face recognition algorithms, is ‘truly trusted’ and sets the industry gold standard for biometric implementation.”
NEC’s voluntary survey submission included the following solutions:
