PACOM has announced the launch of VIGIL CORE, its “next-generation” cloud-based security platform, offering greater efficiency, a long-term solution and value beyond traditional security.
The company says that the solution is a centrally controlled security and business management platform that is intelligent, user-friendly and highly cost-effective, and is designed for customers with single sites, multiple sites or large campus environments.
VIGIL CORE combines access control and intrusion alarm, video verification, building management and centralized alarm monitoring, all in one platform.
It also extends its functionality beyond security by acting as an interface with the Internet of Things (IoT).
According to the company, bringing every source of video and sensor data together in a single place unlocks valuable business intelligence, operational insights and efficiencies for customers — providing value beyond traditional security while also saving time and money.
Cloud-based security
Based on an SaaS model, PACOM says that VIGIL CORE can grow as a business expands or adds new devices to its security system.
SaaS deployment also leads to lower initial costs for hardware, software and infrastructure, leading to faster returns.
Additionally, the simplicity of the platform eliminates the need for a complex server infrastructure and specialized skills to configure on-prem servers, leading to cost savings in installation time and staff training, consequently leading to faster returns on investment.
By offering more than just security, VIGIL CORE provides complete control over the entire building services ecosystem and can scale up and down as required.
This solution is fully cloud-enabled and a fully customizable dashboard can be accessed via any internet-connected desktop PC or smartphone.
Users can view live and playback video from cloud-based security cameras, bookmark cameras for quick and easy access from the main dashboard, check camera health status, set profiles and permissions, assign credentials, set rules, export footage clips and arm or disarm devices – anytime, anyplace, anywhere.
It can also be set-up as a purely on-premise solution or even in a hybrid configuration.
“VIGIL CORE is the result of many months of research, development and listening,” said Brad McMullen, President of PACOM.
“We are excited to launch it to the market, redefining what’s possible in security and business management and transforming the operational effectiveness of many different built environments.”
