The $6 billion Delta Community is Georgia’s largest credit union with more than 400,000 members, 26 metro Atlanta branches and three out-of-state branch locations.
Some years ago, Delta Community’s access control management and alarm monitoring were overseen by third-party providers. Delta security staff wanted more direct control over their access control and alarms and they wanted to be able to make immediate system adjustments, not wait on another party.
Now, Southern Bank Equipment and ATMs handles all hardware needs; system alarm monitoring is performed by a trusted third-party; and PACOM provides the GMS security platform to all Delta Community branches nationwide.
“It was important for us to be able to make changes on the fly and change access privileges quickly. With PACOM, our team can complete system updates in-house and manage the system from our corporate headquarters, so we are covered 24/7/365,” said Kim Hodgkin Corporate Security Manager, Delta Community Credit Union.
GMS is a robust multi-site security management platform, providing integration between access control, intrusion, video, intercom and virtually any building management or security solution. It is designed to manage thousands of locations simultaneously through a single interface, while providing availability and redundancy. GMS meets end-user demands for a multi-site security system with multiple integrations.
Benefits
• Delta Community, which has more than 1,100 employees and vendors under access management, relies on the robust, multi-capability GMS system, as well as the dependable vendor support from PACOM.
• With PACOM, the Delta security staff can complete system updates in-house and manage the system from their corporate headquarters, assuring trusted coverage 24/7/365.
• System alarms are a big part of Delta’s management of the GMS system. The company estimates receiving 12 to 36 alarms per week. Staff quickly review each incident to determine the cause and then resolve the problem.
• Sometimes Delta security receives false motion detection alarms. Upon alarm the PACOM system sends an immediate alert, which enables staff to access video surveillance data and easily understand the problem and resolve it quickly.
“The platform is set up for ease of use and less IT involvement. We appreciate being able to control functionality when needed and look forward to continuing to optimize system management and results,” reported Hodgkin.
