As outlined by Reuters, the gunman is believed to have acted alone and his motive remains unknown. He was killed by a police officer after he began firing outside of the Allen Premium Outlets mall in Allen, Texas.

One of the victims killed was named as Christian LaCour, a security professional from Allied Universal.

Security professionals from nearby areas are commended for covering their shifts so they can grieve and begin to heal… Our thoughts go out to the victims, their loved ones and the community of Allen.”
