According to a new report, the global anti-drone systems market was valued at around $500 million in 2017, grew to $1,500 million in 2022 and is expected to reach a market size of $6,000 million by 2028.
As outlined by ResearchAndMarkets, the increased use of drones to counter terrorism and prevent illicit activities is driving the market, making it grow at a predicted compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 25% during 2022 to 2028.
Additionally, the report says that the advancement of remote sensing and surveillance technologies, such as automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) is driving the demand for anti-drone systems.
However, the higher costs of associated technologies, such as radio frequency (RF) analyzers, sensors and radar, are a major concern for the market’s growth.
The findings from the report reveal that by systems, the detection segment held the largest market share of the global anti-drone systems market in 2021 and that, by technology, the laser system segment held the largest market share in 2021.
By end-user, the military and defense segment held the largest market share of the global market in 2021, owing to the increasing government initiatives to adopt counter-drone to monitor terrorist activities.
North America also accounted for the largest share of the global market in 2021 and is expected to remain dominant during the forecast period.
