DMP has announced that Dave Roberts, who has been at the company for decades, will take on the newly created role of Vice President of Cybersecurity.
“Dave Roberts will be transitioning to a [different] focus as our Vice President of Cybersecurity,” announced Rick Britton, DMP CEO.
“Dave has completed his Master’s in Cybersecurity and brings that knowledge, as well as his understanding of our systems, to the [new] role.”
The growth of cybersecurity
The landscape of the security industry is evolving rapidly, according to the company.
As the physical security and information systems security industries blend, DMP says that it wanted a dedicated individual to lead cybersecurity within its operations and minimize risks for customers.
Roberts has been with DMP for 34 years. For the past 12 years, he has served as Vice President of Engineering.
This new role will direct his efforts toward software as a service (SaaS) and mobile platforms.
“I’ve always enjoyed investigating new technologies to see how they might be used to solve industry problems,” said Roberts.
“DMP is a fast company. We want to stay ahead of the competition.
“I would like to thank our customers for trusting us as their security system provider.”
In addition to his master’s degree, Roberts is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
His expertise, along with his in-depth understanding of DMP systems, brings a rich level of experience to this new role, the company says.
