Vigitron, a provider of networking solutions for security applications, has announced that its Ethernet extenders and Industrial Network Switches (INS) have received the EN 50121-4 certification for railway applications.
The company says that this achievement underscores its commitment to delivering reliable and robust solutions for challenging environments and enables it to expand its presence in the rail market, offering enhanced safety, reliability and performance for rail infrastructure.
Vigitron’s EN 50121-4 certified products are designed for a range of rail applications, including: onboard communications and entertainment systems; trackside signaling and control systems; and station infrastructure.
Improving rail security
Vigitron says that the EN 50121-4 standard ensures its products meet stringent electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements, making them ideal for rail environments where interference could impact system performance.
This certification demonstrates the durability of Vigitron’s products, ensuring they can withstand the rigorous demands of railway systems.
“Our achievement of the EN 50121-4 certification marks a significant milestone for Vigitron,” said Neil Heller, Vice President of Business Development at Vigitron.
“Our Ethernet extenders and INS are now proven to meet the rigorous demands of this sector, providing reliable connectivity and power even in harsh conditions.”
