Axis Communications has released two multi-purpose box cameras that it says were designed with privacy and security in mind. Offering HDTV 1080p resolution with great image quality, the company says they include an IR-corrected lens to ensure professional-quality video both day and night.

These compact box cameras come with built-in privacy features making them ideal for areas where privacy must be kept such as nursing and residential care homes. AXIS M1055-L is a cost-effective model while AXIS M1075-L is a fully featured product including two-way audio with built-in speaker and dual microphones.

AXIS M1075-L also features a PIR Sensor for motion detection. Including a deep learning processing unit (DLPU), these cameras enable advanced features and analytics based on deep learning on the edge. AXIS Object Analytics includes a time in area feature (beta), making it possible to track whenever an object stays in a defined area longer than a user-defined time, for example, to detect loitering or monitor dwell time.

These easy-to-install box cameras can be mounted in corners for complete coverage with a 103° field of view. Additionally, the fully-featured camera includes support for Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) for integration with IP-systems.

Key features include:

  • Day-and-night cameras with IR illumination
  • Support for advanced analytics
  • PoE and I/O port
  • Built-in privacy features
  • Premium model with audio

The company says these cameras offer built-in cybersecurity features to help prevent unauthorized access and safeguard the system. Axis Edge Vault protects the device ID and simplifies authorization of products on the network. Furthermore, signed firmware and secure boot guarantee that the firmware hasn’t been compromised and ensure only authorized firmware is installed.
