Axis Communications has launched an analytic application that combines 180-degree radar detection and 180-degree panoramic multisensor images for improved situational awareness. Â
The company says that not only does AXIS Radar Data Visualizer reduce false alarms, but it is suitable for monitoring large open spaces, due to its ability to accurately detect people up to 60 meters (200 feet) and vehicles up to 85 meters (280 feet).
Analytic application features
This analytic application uses radar data to accurately detect and classify people and vehicles where they shouldn’t be, the company says.
It collects and processes this radar data and presents it as visual, customizable overlays in the camera feed. Â
Data can also be used to trigger events, the company reports.
For instance, it’s possible to activate strobe lights, trigger alarms or start camera recordings whenever an object crosses a predefined virtual line in the camera view. Â
Additionally, thanks to edge-to-edge technology, it can be connected to supported panoramic cameras for visual verification with 180° coverage without any blind spots.
Using radar technology, this analytic application offers cost-effective operations and accurate detection 24/7.
The company says that with area and line-crossing detection it’s possible to trigger an event whenever an object moves within a defined area or crosses a predefined virtual line in a defined direction.
